Strawberries , strawberries again. This year we went to Lancaster, PA for strawberry picking. It was super fun. The farm was huge. There were so many and variety of plants. The workers also very very polite. The strawberry rows clean and neat. So we were able to pick up 10 lb strawberries.
Our family love strawberry shortcake. So the first day I bake a cake to surprise my family.
Strawberry shortcake:
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
Cream:
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 4 tbs of condensed milk
- 2 oz cream cheese
- 1 tbs Strawberry jam
- Strawberries for decoration
Direction:
- Whisk the 3 egg white with sugar until it forms white soft peaks
- Add egg yolks and flour, mix it in slow speed.
- Put parchment paper the bottom of the pan
- Pour the butter to the pan
- Bake it in 350* for 20 minutes
- Let it cool down
- Cut in two pieces
- Whisk the heavy cream with condensed milk and cream cheese until it gets hardened
8. Spread the strawberry jam in one part of the cake
10. Decorate with strawberries
11. Repeat the steps with second part
12. Keep in refrigerator for 2 hours before serving
